ImageNet Consulting didn’t start as a multimillion-dollar company servicing clients in 7 states. We come from humble beginnings, and when we say humble beginnings, we mean it. ImageNet began as a typewriter repair company, created by our founder, Bobby Roberson, with a $50 loan from his mother.
During his teenage years in Oklahoma City, he was introduced to the growing sport of boxing. As an amateur Golden Gloves boxer, he learned resilience, discipline, courage, and mental toughness. These lessons didn’t just shape his athletic performance; they laid the foundation for his competitive mindset in life.

After his military service as a United States Marine in the Korean War, with a $50 loan from his mother, Bobby began his entrepreneurial career by starting a small typewriter repair company in his garage; he could never have known that this small business venture would turn into ImageNet Consulting. Bobby quickly competed with larger, more established businesses by prioritizing service and trust. As technology evolved, so did Bobby. He shifted from typewriters to analog printers, which led to the creation of BMI Systems.
In 2026, ImageNet Consulting is celebrating its 70th anniversary in business. With over 600 employees and 19 office locations, we currently specialize in Managed Print Services, Managed IT Services, Enterprise Content Services, 3D Printing, and Audio-Visual Technology.
